Abstract

The purpose of this study are (1) Analyzing moral messages in a collection short stories Orang-Orang Pinggiran by Lea Pamungkas, (2) students' responses to moral messages in a collection of short stories Orang-Orang Pinggiran by Lea Pamungkas. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. The object of the research was a collection of 10 short stories by Lea Pamungkas Karya, while the subjects were students of class XI MIPA 1 Sma Muhammadiyah Randublatung. The data collection of this study used literature and questionnaire sheets. Data validation test used in this research is source triangulation and theory triangulation as checking sources and data. The results of this study are (1) moral messages in the collection of short stories Orang-Orang Pinggiran by Lea Pamungkas some of which are responsibility, patience, sincerity, help, hard work and (2) students' responses to moral messages in a collection of short stories Orang-Orang Pinggiran by Lea Pamungkas, there is 29 respondents with the result that 100% of students believed that the collection of short stories Orang-Orang Pinggiran by Lea Pamungkas' a moral message. 96.55% of students agreed with the moral messages contained in a collection of short stories, 93.11% students agreed that the moral messages taken in accordance with the events experienced by the characters, 96.55% of students believe that the moral messages in the collection of short stories there are good lessons , 62.06% of students did not agree that in moral messages there were lessons that were not good and 96.55% of students could take lessons from moral messages delivered or allowed. With the results of these responses it can be concluded that students can take and understand lessons from moral messages contained in a collection of short stories.
