Abstract

Backhoe Loader is one of the heavy equipment unit which it is using a wheel (rubber wheels) that functions to dig, its use is almost the same as the wheel loader, where the runway for the backhoe loader are relatively flat, dry and sturdy. Used if the operation is required for high mobilization in order that it give not a damage on the work of the runway and the high traction. The Differential is one of the power transfer mechanism part that have a function to move the rotational power from the propeller shaft to the rear axle. The function of Differential is to reduce the propeller shaft rotation as much as needed by the wheels, change the direction of power by 90° on the rear axle and divide the power of the left and right wheels. This analysis aims to be able to find out how the differential works, find out the types of damage to the differential, find out the cause of the damage, to know the repair steps and minimize the damage to the differential backhoe loader case 580 SN.
