Abstract
PTI 1 praktical work is one of the integrated praktical work in Industrial Engineering Departement of Muhammadiyah Surakarta University. PTI 1 practical work focuses on making miniature cars using mindi wood. The miniature manufacture produces mindi wood waste that can be used for typical UMS industrial engineering merchandise. Using the reverse engineering method, the wood waste is made into wooden watches. The naming of wooden watches typical of UMS industrial techniques is WATCHTI. The reverse engineering method refers to product changes to simplify the process or improve the design. The application of the reverse engineering method for wood watch products is a change of prominent lugs into the case. The yield strength of mindi wood is 66,922,948.68 N / m ^ 2. The results of this design strength test can be proven by using the Vonmesis test on Solidworks with a prominent lug design having a safety factor of 2.94 and with the design of the lugs being included in the case having a safety factor of 10.6. Changes are not only made to the lugs but also to the movement case parts. The movement case on the initial product uses separate parts, and is simplified into one with a back case to reduce the assembly process on WATCHTI wooden watches. The assembly process in the initial product is 11 as there are changes in the design of the movement case to 10 assembly processes.
