Abstract

The purpose of this study are (1) describe the social context of the mural conversation, (2) to identify the form of conversational implicature in the mural, and (3) describe the conversational implicature in the mural. The data in this study were written in the form of conversations in a mural in Sosrokusuman village, Yogyakarta. Sources of data in the form of writing in the form of conversations containing implicature in a mural in the village of Sosrokusuman Yogyakarta. In this study researchers used the documentation and note techniques. Data analysis techniques in this study used heuristic and hermeneutic reading methods. The results of this study are (1) The form of conversational implicature there are several forms, namely the implied speech request, the implied conversation implied, the reported speech implicature, and the ordered conversational implicature, (2) The social relationship between the results of the analysis around the form of the relationship between children and parents, the relationship between citizens, the relationship between tourists and local residents, the relationship between traders and buyers, the relationship between grandchildren and grandmothers, the relationship between teachers and students, and the relationship between fellow gamemates, and (3) The implicature of the results of analysis there are several forms including implicature to insinuate, invite, advise and to criticize.
