Abstract

The objectives of this research are: a) to find out the implementation of fulfilling the rights of women workers at PT Sritex based on Law No.13 of 2003 concerning manpower; b) to find out the obstacles encountered to fulfill the rights of female workers by PT Sritex to female workers at PT Sritex. The type of research used is descriptive. Method The approach used in this study is the empirical juridical method. Research and Discussion Results PT Sritex is a Textile and Garment company in the Sukoharjo Regency. Please note that there are 16,000 workers. 4000 workers in the spinning department (Spinning Unit), 4000 workers in the weaving department (Weaving), 1000 workers in the printing-dyeing department (Dyeing and Printing Unit), and 7000 workers in the Garment department (Garment Unit). Of the 16,000 workers the majority are occupied by women workers, even up to 50% of the total workforce. In accordance with Law No. 13 of 2003 concerning Manpower, PT Sritex has basically provided fulfillment to its female workers. As an example of providing food and drinks that are exchanged for coupons in the cafeteria that have been provided by the company, in addition the company has also provided space for breastfeeding for its employees who are given time during recess, but this lactation room is also lacking quite effective because for female workers to feel less effective if they have to bring a child while working, most of the employees prefer to go home when the house is near or to store the contents in the lactation room. In this case the company has observed the provisions contained in Act Number 36 of 2009 concerning Health in line with the provisions in Article 83 of Act Number 13 of 2003 concerning Manpower, Joint Regulation of the State Minister for Women's Empowerment Number 48 / MEN.PP / XII / 2008, Minister of Manpower and Transmigration Number PER.27 / MEN / XII / 2008 and Minister of Health Number 1177 / MENKES / PB / XII / 2008 concerning Increased Provision of Breast Milk during Working Hours at Work. In addition, there is also a mess or dormitory for women workers who do night shifts but because the mess or dormitory is not effective enough. Because most of the employees choose to stay home. In addition, for female workers who do night shifts in order to maintain security and decency while at work. The company provides separate bathrooms for male and female employees, and is provided with bright lighting.
