Abstract
The research method in this study using descriptive qualitative methods. The results of this study indicate that in choosing a learning method the teacher must pay attention to the basic competencies to be used as well as indicators and learning objectives to be achieved. In applying the steps of learning Indonesian by using the method of repeating the story, it can teach students how to listen and speak in public and to convey information properly and correctly without adding or reducing the essence of the information. Indirectly learning feels fun and is not boring for students. Train the concentration and memory of students, practice speaking in public and getting used to give good and correct information. Using simple story text and using language that is easy to understand is very helpful in applying learning methods with the method of repeating stories. Because, with language that is easy to understand and simple, students will not be difficult to understand. This method is a group method, relying on memory and training students to listen to each of what is told to find the core or main content of the story or information conveyed.
