Abstract

Anemia in pregnancy can have harmful effects on the mother and fetus. The prevalence of anemia in pregnant women at the Sangkrah Community Health Center is still high but the achievement of the distribution of Fe tablets has exceeded the target. This study aims to analyze the relationship of income, education, parity, age of pregnant women, distance of pregnancy, consumption of foods containing Fe and vitamin C, tea drinking habits with anemia in pregnant women at the Sangkrah Public Health Center in Surakarta. This type of research is quantitative with a cross-sectional approach conducted in October-November 2019. The population is the second and third trimester pregnant women in the working area of the Sangkrah Community Health Center, totaling 123 people with an exhaustive sampling technique using a questionnaire instrument and Hb meter. Data analysis using chi-square test. The result is a relationship of education (p = 0.020), consumption of Fe food (p = 0,000), vitamin C (p = 0.010), and tea drinking habits (p = 0.014) and no income relationship (p = 0.336), parity (p = 0.938), the age of pregnant women (p = 0.625), and the distance of pregnancy (p = 0.083) with anemia in pregnant women. It takes supervisory personnel for food consumption, tea drinkers, providing education about anemia prevention for anemic pregnant women.
