Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe self-acceptance in adolescents who are pregnant out of wedlock starting from aspects, processes, and self-acceptance factors. This research uses a phenomenological qualitative method with the process of collecting data using in-depth interviews. Taking the research subjects using purposive sampling as many as 2 subjects with criteria for adolescents 12-19 years of age and pregnant out of wedlock on the basis of like and like. The results of this study indicate that aspects of self-acceptance of adolescents who become pregnant out of wedlock include the subject of covering up the pregnancy by looking, feeling accepted by the environment because it has never been ridiculed by others but rather limiting themselves in the social environment, being able to look at yourself. The process of self-acceptance in each subject is different for its stages which include rejection and isolation, depression, anger, negotiation, and self-acceptance. Factors in self-acceptance of adolescents who become pregnant out of wedlock are aware of mistakes, have hope for themselves and the future of their children, responsibility, stress or problems come from the family, get support from the closest people, and are able to see the risks that must be accepted and the wisdom that can get.
