Abstract
This study aims to describe the role of the principal, activities undertaken by the school, and the character values that emerge from the implementation of the full day school program in shaping student character at SDIT Muhammadiyah Al-Kautsar Kartasura. The type and design of this research uses descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interviews, and documentation. Data validity uses source triangulation and triangulation techniques to check data validity. The results of this study indicate that: 1) the principal conducts the preparation of a student's activity program for one year, socializes with the guardians of students, monitors and motivates, 2) Activities carried out by schools in the implementation of the full day school program in shaping the character of students, namely implementing a full day school, activities outside the classroom, extracurricular activities or self-development, school culture. 3) The character values that appear in the implementation of the full day school program at SDIT Muhammadiyah Al-Kautsar are 18 characters of the Ministry of Education and Culture but the Islamic character or the most visible religious character.
