Abstract
The unwise use of technology has brought negative impact, for instance, students becoming unproductive, lazy, and cheating, moreover with unsupportive family environment, schools, and communities which cause the emergence of student delinquency such as violating the rules, truant, absence, and smoking by which SMP Muhammadiyah 2, Masaran Sragen is no exception. This obviously requires guidance from teachers, especially guidance and counseling teachers to provide assistance to students as they repent to their actions and commit not redoing it. This study aims to determine 1) the application of Islamic guidance and counseling to overcome students’ misbehavior of third grade SMP Muhammadiyah Masaran Sragen, 2) the problems in the application of Islamic guidance and counseling, and 3) solutions to overcome the problems of Islamic guidance and counseling application. This research is field research with a qualitative descriptive approach. The data of this study were obtained through interviews with the principal, guidance and counseling teachers, homeroom teachers, and students and also through observations and documentation. Data analysis was performed by data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study are 1) The application of Islamic guidance counseling in SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Masaran Sragen was administered with preventive, curative and development functions in an effort to overcome student delinquency. The form of student delinquencies at SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Masaran Sragen were coming late, truant, absence, smoking, incomplete school attributes, skipping dhuha prayer, dhuhur prayer not congregationally, bringing cellphones and dressing untidily. The preventive function was administered by giving advice, warning cards and guidance from police. The curative function was conducted with notifications, warnings, and sanctions. While the development function was carried out with the application of Islamic ethics, science class programs and tahfidz; 2) Problems in Islamic guidance and counseling application included undelivered notification letters, constraints on students’ self-awareness, and unconducive environment influences; 3) The solutions to overcome the constraints of the application were sending notification letters via post and close friends, motivation to refer to the Qur'an and Hadith, the Qur'an program in classes, students’ guardian meeting in every semester and the establishment of students’ guardian group.
