Abstract

The world of manufacturing industry will always improve the quality and efficiency of the material working process. One of them is the process of hollowing out the material using a punch tool. This research carried out the hollow process with a double punch press dies. The process of perforating the material is done by piercing method, because in this method the material which is perforated is as a result of the punching process. The perforation material is using 5 mm diameter punch and 0.045 mm clerance. The material used is aluminum pans series 1100, the products from metal spinning. The material perforation process uses two variations of the cross section of the punch, namely: a semi-circular concave punch and a central drill concave. After 3 holes perforation on the material, measurements will be taken to measure the diameter of the hole and the length of the burr to be measured. Measurement of diameter compatibility using calipers and burr length measurements using macro photographs from a digital microscope. The average results of the appropriate measurement of the diameter and burr length, in the cross section of the central concave punch, the diameter in hole A is 4,99 mm, in hole B is 4,98 mm. Measure the length of the burr in hole A is 0,1329 mm and for hole B is 0,3980 mm. While the semi-circular concave cross section, the diameter at hole A is 4.99 mm, at hole B is 4,99 mm. The length of the burr in hole A is 0,0394 mm, and in hole B it is 0,0803 mm.
