Abstract
This study aims to (1) Knowing of textbooks development on climate change and the impact of life on class VIIb SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Surakarta. (2) Know the effectiveness of development textbooks teaching materials on climate change materials and their impact on disasters. The research carried out was an R&D (research and development) study used a modified Borg and Gall design development model. The design used was in the form of pre-experiment, one-group pretest-posttest design. The data analysis test uses validity and reliability tests. Then the data analysis test was done using the normality test and T-test which aims to provide answers to the hypothesis. The result showed : (1) develpment of textbook obtained a value of 4,6 from material and media expert gave a value 4,5 and the teacher and student gave a value of 4,6 which indicated said to be a “GOOD” category; (2) The learning outcomes of students after the development of teaching materials showed the average pretest score was 39.6 and for posttest 82.2 there was an increase in learning outcomes by 52%. Are based on the results of the T-test pretest and posttest data which showed a significant value of 0,000 which means <0.05 so that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. It means climate change textbooks improved the knowledge improved of climate change and its impact in SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Surakarta.
