Abstract

ECONOMIC LEARNING WITH THE SCIENCE APPROACH IN IPS CLASS XI IN SUKODONO 1 STATE HIGH SCHOOL This study aims to: (1) Describe economic learning with a scientific approach to Social Sciences class XI at Sukodono 1 State High School (2) Describe the obstacles faced in economic learning with a scientific approach to class XI IPS at Sukodono 1 State High School. (3) Describe the solution given to the obstacles faced in learning economics with a scientific approach to class XI IPS at Sukodono 1 State High School. The research method used is descriptive qualitative case study design. Data sources in this study were curriculum vice principal, class XI IPS students and teachers. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis consists of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The validity of the data uses a triangulation data credibility test that is source triangulation and technique triangulation. The results showed that: (1) Economic learning with a scientific approach to class xi ips in Sukodono 1 State High School, teachers compiled RPP in accordance with the 2013 curriculum, learning at Sukodono 1 State High School has applied a scientific approach where there are activities, observing, asking, collecting information, associate, and communicate results. The scientific approach has principles including: Student-centered, involving science process skills in constructing concepts, laws or principles, involving potential cognitive processes to stimulate intellectual development, can develop student character. Before the application of the scientific approach in Sukodono 1 State High School students 'learning motivation was still lacking after applying it students' learning motivation to be independent was evidenced by students being able to express their opinions, students paying more attention and concentration and students being more active in Question and Answer in class. (2) Constraints in the application of the scientific approach at Sukodono 1 State High School including teachers not careful in teaching, especially in the use of instructional media, teachers have difficulty when using a scientific approach especially in accounting learning, difficulty in making students active, and changing students' thinking already consider teachers to be active, teacher training that is less scheduled due to the busyness of each MGMP member, so it is quite difficult to gather. (3) The solutions provided to improve the application of the scientific approach at Sukodono 1 State High School include: The principal always strives for learning tools and resources to be properly fulfilled, Teachers as optimal as possible to teach and always trying to develop themselves so that learning is more enjoyable, Teachers are more often use learning media and make the atmosphere of learning in the classroom more fun and conducive.
