Abstract

The status as a prisoner sometimes gives negative impacts to the self-acceptance of Anak Didik Permasyarakatan (Andikpas) at the Kutoarjo Children's Special Development Institute (LPKA), such as deep shame, feeling worthless, and unacceptable. This research aimed to understand and describe the self-acceptance of the sexual violences adolescent perpetrators at the Kutoarjo Children's Special Development Institute. The subjects of this research were 3 male. This research uses a purposive sampling technique in selecting informants of the research with the criteria Andikpas 16-18 years who issued the immoral criminal article (Clause 81/82). Datas are collected using semi-structured interviews technique. The data analysis technique that used is descriptive narrative analysis to explain the results of the research. The results of the research revealed that self-acceptance of Andikpas was shown by not changing their ideals before entering and after leaving LPKA Kutoarjo because because he has a stable self-concept so that he still feels valuable, having hopes of gathering with family again and wanting to correct any mistakes in order to become a better person, and the strength possessed would be used as their life provision so it would be useful in the future so that he can accept himself with a clear concept of the purpose of life. The self-acceptance of Andikpas was also shown by positive social attitudes so Andikpas having a good and close relationship with friends in LPKA Kutoarjo, being responsible for their actions and accepting the sanctions given, and receiving praise as well as criticism so that they could instropect themselves and they could improve themselves. Andikpas think that a person does not required to be someone else to be appreciated by others.
