Abstract

This study aims to describe the inculcation of discipline character and hard work among students of Senior High School 1 Simo through Pencak Silat Extracurricular. This research is a qualitative research, by collecting data using observation, interview and documentation techniques. The object of this study was the Planting of Disciplinary Character and Hard Work of Students Through Pencak Silat Extracurricular at Senior High School 1 Simo. The indicators used in the character of discipline: 1) on time in activities, 2) obey applicable regulations, 3) carry out tasks according to the specified schedule, 4) active in learning and extracurricular activities, 5) studying in school and outside of school. The indicators used in the character of hard work: 1) never give up in learning and doing assignments, 2) study hard, 3) like to compete well, 4) want to get an award, 5) complete one task at a time. Data validity is done by triangulation of data sources and triangulation of data collection techniques. Data analysis was performed by applying an interactive analysis model. The results of this study can be concluded that: 1) Planting the character of student discipline through pencak silat extracurricular activities at Senior High School 1 Simo is done from the smallest form of discipline in uniform, discipline in gathering time, preparation of tools and completeness of training, and also discipline during training; 2) Planting the character of students' hard work through extracurricular pencak silat Senior High School 1 Simo is done by providing new materials and activities, Anniversary (Anniversary) Organization and LDK (Basic Leadership Training), as well as intensive training from trainers to push and exceed the limits of ability to develop better than before with the balance of motivation and support.
