Abstract
Happiness is a series of positive feelings felt by someone with the characteristic of being able to go through life today that is undergoing the process of rehabilitation, without being hampered by the past and having positive hopes for the future. This study aims to describe the dynamics of happiness that are felt in Tuna Susila Women who undergo rehabilitation. The informants of this study were five women who were selected by purposive sampling with the criteria of having a background as prostitutes, aged ± 20 to 60 years, undergoing rehabilitation and living in the Wanodyatama Women's Social Institution in Surakarta. Data collection techniques using semi-structured interviews. The results of this study show that prostitutes cannot feel happiness while undergoing the rehabilitation process at the Social Home. There is one informant who can feel happiness that is characterized by having positive emotions, having the ability to manage and variations in optimal time, getting social support, having positive habits and having hope for a better future. One other informant although the informant can accept the current situation and have positive hopes for the future, but cannot benefit from every activity. The other three informants have not been able to accept the current situation, cannot take advantage so there is no change in themselves, and there is no positive hope for the future. Factors that affect happiness are genetic, intentional activities to do, and the environmental situation in which individuals live. Keywords : happiness, susila tuna woman, social institution
