Abstract
PT XYZ is one of the companies engaged in the textile and garment industry in Indonesia. One of PT XYZ's production units is the weaving division which weaves the yarn into fabric. In the process of weaving, there is an Air Jet Loom Tsudakoma ZA-205 machine which is damaged more often compare to other types of machines. This damage causes a disruption on the yarn weaving process when it produces gray cloth, therefore an analysis is necessary to determine the magnitude of the risk and the cost of unreliability to failures that occur using the Risk Based Maintenance method and the Cost of Unreliability. Based on Risk Matrix, it is found that the critical subsystem components are turn buckle, cutter, leno, filler H1, filler H2 and valve. The magnitude of the critical subsystem components risk from existing maintenance is 11,703,225.54 IDR or 1.74% of production capacity for a year. This figure exceeds the company's risk acceptance limit at 1.5%, therefore it is necessary to propose maintenance intervals. The maintenance interval proposal could reduce the risk to 1.159%, the risk reduction is around 33.42% of the company's existing risk which is below the acceptance criteria. Based on the Cost of Unreliability, the unreliability cost of failures is around 26,367,570.82 IDR for corrective time and 28,325,275.59 IDR for downtime.
