Abstract

Nowadays home industry is the one of interested industry to develop, aside from being able to be done in a simple way, also the required capital is small. It is also expected be a good solution for employment provides, which one is a bakpao home industry in Sukoharjo District and Mojolaban District. Thisa study aims to: (1) to determine all of characteristics of bakpao entrepreneurs (2) to determine the pattern of spatial distribution of bakpao home industry (3) to identfy the factors that influence the sustainability of home industry of bakpao. The method that used to in this research is a survey method by interviewing all of entrepreneurs in Sukoharjo adan Mojolaban Districts using questionnaires to obtain the data and the processed into frequency tables and cross tables. The number of samples in this research were 24 entrepreneurs spread across the study area with a distribution of 11 business units located in Sukoharjo District and 13 other business units in Mojolaban Districts. Based on the results of the research, it is known tha the majority of entrepreneurs are male with a percentage of 87,5% where the number in Mojolaban District is far more than Sukoharjo District. The productive age of the owner of Bakpao Home Industry in Sukoharjo District is higher than Mojolaban District and the figure is 92% based on existing respondents, the number is 10% adrift of Sukoharjo District. The average number of entrepreneurs accounted for falls into the small category classification, namely the number of dependents is less than 5 people with the acquisition of figures in Sukoharjo District reaching 64% and Mojolaban Districts is 64% of existing respondents. The length ofthe bakpao industry in the two reasearch areas was found to be different, where in Sukoharjo District more entrepreneurs ran their business for less than 5 years. The quantity of bakpao that could be produced in Sukoharjo District is mostly less than 500 pcs/day and in Mojolaban District is capable of producing up to 1000 pcs/day. The spatial distribution pattern of the bakpao home industry in both districts are equally dispersed pattern, with the results value of T score in Sukohrajo District reaching 1,892791 and in Mojolaban District is 1,692309, these number shows that if most of the bakpao home industrial locations are located in relatively the same distance. Most respondents in Mojolaban Districts rely on 69% of raw materials from outside the district, while entrepreneurs in Sukoharjo District rely more on raw materials from within the sub-district. The bakpao home indsutry in Mojolaban District utilizes more workers from outside the district. The monthly income of bakpao entrepreneurs in Mojolaban District has mostly reached the range of Rp 10.000.000 inti Rp 20.000.000, while entrepreneurs in Sukoharjo subdistrict are lower where oncomes are less than Rp 10.000.000 more. The sustainability of the bakpao home industry in Mojolaban District is better than in Sukoharjo District.
