Abstract

Lubricating oil is one of the important elements in the engine work system. Oil functions in reducing friction between engine components, so oil should not be contaminated with liquids and any objects. The purpose of this inspection is to determine the cause of oil being contaminated with water coolant and the impact of from oil contaminated with water coolant on the Yuchai Type YC6108G diesel engine. This engine inspection procedure includes checking the oil level and the volume of the water coolant. Then it carries out steps such as oil drain and dismantling the oil pan to determine the damage and cause of oil being contaminated with water coolant. The cause of oil contaminated with water coolant is the o-ring cylinder linner is damaged due to leaking, so that the lubrication system is disrupted and damage other components such as the main bearing. Repair steps are carried out by changing the components of the o-ring cylinder linner and main bearing.
