Abstract
This study aims to determine efforts to improve soft skills through 21st century learning at SMK Tamansiswa Sukoharjo. This type of research is a qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. The research objectives are the principal, vice principal in the field of curriculum, vice principal in the field of student affairs, teachers and students. Subject used includes interviews, observation and documentation. To guarantee the validity of the data, triangulation of techniques and data sources is used. Data analysis techniques using data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of this study are 1) efforts that can be made to improve soft skills are through affective learning that involves students to be active during learning, extracurricular implementation, practical learning activities (field work practices, computers, language skills), and teachers are expected to attend seminars related to the development of learning soft skills that are implemented in learning in schools. 2) the implementation of activities in an effort to improve soft skills associated with maximizing 21st century skills includes; Communication skills (Communication skills), Collaboration skills (Cooperative skills), Critical thinking and Problem solving skills (critical thinking skills and problem solving), Creativity and Innovation skills (creativity and innovation skills).
