Abstract
Diana Setyaningrum/A410154006. ERROR ANALYSIS OF STUDENTS IN RESOLVING PROBLEMS MATH STORIES BASED ON GENDER ORIENED PISA IN CLASS VIII SMP MUHAMMADIYAH 1 SURAKARTA SCHOOL YEAR 2018/2019. Essay. Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Muhammadiyah University Of Surakata. July, 2019. This study aims to examine differences in abilities and describe the mistakes of students in solving problems based on gender -oriented mathematics . This type of research is quantitative and qualitative ( mix method). The subjects of this study were students of class VIII A, Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta Junior High School, totaling 26 students consisting of 16 male students and 10 female students. Data collection techniques using the method of observation, tests, interviews. Quantitative data analysis techniques with the T-test (Independent sample test ) and qualitative data with data reduction, presentation and drawing conclusions / verification. The results of the study there are differences in the ability of students, namely the ability of female students is better than male students in solving PISA-oriented mathematical story problems. There are 5 types of errors used by researchers to analyze errors made by students in solving story problems, namely reading errors, misunderstanding, transformation errors, skills errors and writing errors. Based on the research sample of female students there were 0.9% reading errors, 0.9% understanding errors, 0.5% transformation errors, 0.4% skill errors and 0.6% conclusion errors while male students contained 0.7% reading errors, 0.7% understanding errors, 0.3% transformation errors , 0.3% skill error and 0.3% conclusion error. Generally the causes of errors of students in solving the story is not able to understand which keywords and questions well, tend to direct work, writing conclusions are less precise, the lack of keteliti early so that there is an error in the count, did not read the question carefully so that what is known and what is asked is a misinterpretation, in a hurry to solve a story problem so that the final answer is still wrong. Keywords: error analysis, gender, math story problems, PISA
