Abstract
The objective of this research is to investigate the factors influencing the interest in becoming teachers of the students of the Accounting Education Study Program, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Muhammadiyah Surakarta University. This research used the quantitative method. Its population was all of the students of the Accounting Education Study Program, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Muhammadiyah Surakarta University , the classes of 2015 as many as 224 students.The samples of research were taken by using the proportionate stratified random sampling technique, and they consisted of 135 students of Class 2015. The data of research were collected through questionnaire and documentation. They were then analyzed by using the Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) aided with the computer program of Software SPPS Version 17 for Windows. The result of research shows that there are six factors influencing the interest in becoming teachers of the students of the Accounting Education Study Program, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Muhammadiyah Surakarta University, namely: (1) intrinsic motivations; (2) understanding on Teacher’s and positive image of teacher’s profession; (3) learn environment; (4) extrinsic motivation; (5) experience of learn; (6) learn achievement.
