Abstract

This study aims to 1) determine the characteristics of team assisted individualization (tai) cooperative learning in economic subjects for grade VII students of SMP Negeri 2 Gatak in 2019/2020. 2) determine students' achievements in economic subjects with the Team Assisted Individualization method in grade VII students of SMP Negeri 2 Gatak. This type of research is qualitative research. Data collection techniques used are, documentation, testing, and observation. Data were analyzed by researchers comparing student achievement before and after the application of the team assisted individualization method, then the results of student achievement were obtained from the results of practice and evaluation. The results showed that 1) the characteristics of Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) cooperative learning in economic subjects for Grade VII students of SMP Negeri 2 Gatak in 2019/2020, can be described in several stages, namely preparation, presentation, practice, evaluation, and closing. Strengths and weaknesses of Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) cooperative learning methods in economic subjects for grade VII students of SMP Negeri 2 Gatak in 2019/2020. 2) The strengths of Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) cooperative learning methods are that students will be better trained to do assignments and be active and the teacher can better know the abilities of individual students and groups to be able to assess to get the level of student achievement. The disadvantage of Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) cooperative learning methods is that learning with discussion will take longer and students working on assignments in groups will generally create noise.
