Abstract

This study aims to describe the increase in the ability to listen to the news using audio-visual media in class VIII Islamic Kautsar Middle School in Jatirogo District, Tuban Regency . This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) which consists of two cycles and each cycle there are four stages namely planning, action, observation and reflection. The subjects of this study were 16th grade students of 16 students. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews and tests. Data analysis techniques include descriptive qualitative and comparative descriptive data, because qualitative descriptive techniques identify the weaknesses and strengths of student and teacher performance during the research action process while comparative descriptive comparing the calculated results in cycle I and cycle II using percentages. Based on the results of the study showed that the results of student achievement and interest in learning increased after the teacher used audio visual media in the first cycle and second cycle. This is indicated by the average percentage value in the pre-cycle reaching 47%, the first cycle reaching 67%, and the second cycle reaching 86%.
