Abstract

Introduction: Many said that the quality of life in heart failure patients were poor. But, not all of them had poor quality of life. It could be influenced by some factors such as, age, gender, time of diagnose, education, job, NYHA functional class, and spiritual well-being. Purpose: To discover the descriptive of factors that influence the quality of life in heart failure patientsatRSUD Sukoharjo. Methods: Type of descriptive quantitative research. Number of samples in this research was 73 heart failure respondents obtained by accidental sampling technique. MLHFQ and SWBS were used to collect data and then analyzed with univariate analysis. Result: Heart failure respondents’ characteristics showed thatmajority heart failure patients at RSUD Sukoharjo were >65years old (50.7%), men (53.4%), diagnosed with heart failure less than 5years (71.2%), education levelon elementary school degree (34.2%), mostly un-employed/ house-wife (35.6%),NYHA functional class was class II (50.7%), marriage status was married/ engaged (71.2%),and their spiritual well-being results were average (75.3%). Conclusion: Quality of life in heart failure patients at RSUD Sukoharjo were average (67.1%). That means, hopefully patient’s family and people could increase their care toward heart failure patients to make better quality of life.
