Abstract

Kartasura Traditional Market used to be no less crowded with Legi Market which was the Center for selling spices. But since the diverted bus lane that used to pass the market to another lane that did not pass through the market, that's when market visitors have decreased. Despite the downturn, this market has remained unsatisfactory until now. But at this time the interest of the community to visit him began to diminish with the existence of modern markets such as alfamat, indomaret, or alfamidi. As seen today, almost everywhere we find a modern market. Some traders who initially sell inside, some start to sell on the outside of the market to get buyers. This makes the slum atmosphere even more clear and when it rains and is crowded with visitors there are many puddles. The age of this old building is quite visible from the outside with poorly maintained and dirty walls. Some parts of this building have also begun to crack and prone to disaster. Need a change that makes this market even better. Therefore this market needs to be improved again. In this design, it is expected to plan and redesign the Kartasura Traditional Market in accordance with general market standards through a hybrid architecture approach. By maximizing its function and minimizing the problems that have existed in order to be able to attract the attention of the surrounding community to buy their needs in traditional markets safely and comfortably.
