Abstract

Moral development becomes something that is considered important in shaping the good personality of humans. Through moral formation that can be guided, ordered and guided in time. That way good moral coaching is carried out on students from an early age, this is related to child psychology that is easy to improve, form and is fostered in order to have good morals. As a system of Islamic education with a dormitory, Islamic boarding schools are facilitating as a place to cultivate the dynamics of their lives and their activities are endless that run and use moral formation. With a program that is structured and supported through strategies, methods, and innovations that become a guide and benchmark in fostering and forming morals in santri. In the world of Islamic boarding schools, new students are students who are still laying and do not understand the world of cottage education. Based on the background of the problem, there are two formulations of the problem proposed about how to apply the method of moral development to new santri and what are the supporting and inhibiting factors in applying the method of moral formation to new santri. The expected goal in this research is to describe the application of the moral development method to the new students in Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor and identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in applying the method. This thesis research has the benefit of increasing scientific knowledge about analyzing the contents of the formation of new students 'morals, adding new students' insights on knowledge about moral development and references for the coaches to develop methods of fostering moral towards new students. This research is a qualitative study where Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor Ponorogo is a place. In collecting data, the authors conducted field studies through interviews, observation, and documentation. Departing from the data that is in the field and then moved with the existing theories that the author chose to analyze the data. After the presence of research, the authors can draw conclusions that the application of moral guidance in Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor is organized through all activities and activities that are optimally structured and very good. This moral formation is done by exemplary methods, guidance, habituation, supervision and reward penalties. In the process of applying methods that are supported by factors that support each other and support all elements and parts in the hut and the good environment in it coupled with guardians of students who already understand the world of cottage education. Meanwhile, nothing else is the self of the new santri who opposed spoiled plus some santri guardians who do not understand the rules of the cottage and still spoil the children.
