Abstract

This study discusses the efforts of teachers in improving students' religious attitudes. Religious attitude is an attitude related to religion. Islam commands its people to have a religion, which is Islam. The essence of Islam is monotheism, where monotheism is the main foundation in religion in order to convince themselves to the Creator of the Universe. The purpose of this study is to find out how the efforts made by teachers in shaping students' religious attitudes. The method used by the authors in the study is by interview, observation and also documentation. In instilling students' religious attitudes, a teacher always strives for the best and with the best methods. Middle school students belong to the adolescent age group, which in this modernization era adolescent association greatly influences student attitudes. In anticipating the undesirable effects of modernization on students, Muhammadiyah 4 Junior High School teachers in Surakarta are trying to establish students' religious attitudes through Islamic activities there. Islamic activities are a series of activities that are scheduled and organized. In the formation of religious attitudes students teachers use their own methods in carrying out these activities. Islamic activities in the Muhammadiyah 4 Junior High School Surakarta become a teacher's means to shape students' religious attitudes. Among the Islamic activities at the school are: Duha prayer in congregation before starting learning, prayer together before starting learning, midday prayer in congregation, rotating cult, Friday prayer in congregation, infa jum'ah, read prayer wrote al-qur'an, tahfidz for excellent classes, asr prayers in congregation for excellent classes, commemorating the Islamic holidays and also the night of the formation of taqwa.
