Abstract
This study aims to describe: 1) the implementation of grade II thematic learning. 2) The problems faced by grade II teachers in thematic leaning. 3) Solve the problems of class II teachers in thematic learning. This study is qualitative research and the design of this study is descriptive. The subjects of this study were principals and class II teachers. The technique of data collecting uses interview, observation, and documentation methods. The validity of the data in this study uses a type of triangulation technique and source. Data analyzed through data reduction, presenting data, verification/ conclusion. The results of the study indicate that: 1) a. Teacher planning establishes themes and compiles nets of themes, syllabus, and lesson plans. Preliminary activities interact less and foster learning motivation to students; b. The core activity has been linked to 5M (observasing, asking, tryng, reasoning, and communicating). The closing activity does not reflect to measure the level of understanding of the child; c. The learning methode lectures and discussions; d. Media teacher companion book and student book; e. Affective assessment is been from the habits of the child. Cognitie assessment is taken the test values, assignments, written test (daily test, UTS and UAS). Psychomotor assessment with observations when students work on a skill drawing, etc. 2) Mathematics includes the develpment of material, describing KI and KD into indicators, formulating integration between subjects, facilities and intrastructure. 3) Solution is to conduct peer tutors, once every semester meetings, KKG meetings at the cluster level and attend socialization and seminar on thematic learning.
