Abstract

ABSTRAK The purpose of this thesis research is to describe the practice of habituation as an effort to establish the character of students at Surakarta Ta'mirul Islam Middle School, as the purpose of this study; 1) What are the practices of habituation carried out at Ta'mirul Islamic Middle School? 2) What is the practice of habitation in forming the character of students at Surakarta Ta'mirul Islam Middle School? To achieve the research objectives, the field research method (Field Reserch) is used. Research intends to examine the symptoms of education in the practice of habituation as an effort to establish the character of students at Surakarta Ta'mirul Islamic Middle School. Data collection techniques are carried out by conducting observations or observations, interviews and documentation. The data in this study were taken primary data and secondary data. Primary data obtained from the results of data collection techniques in schools, while secondary data obtained from the literature-literature that discusses the research title. The approach used is psychological, namely, trying to understand or study the human soul which is reflected in human character in its relationship with the environment. Then after all the data obtained has been structured and systematically compiled, data analysis is done, using inductive-deductive analysis, which is checking data by triangulating or comparing fact data in the field with data from various literary sources, then conclusions can be drawn from the research as well as an answer to the research problem formulation. Based on the analysis of the research, conclusions were obtained which also answered the research questions, namely. 1) The practice of habituation carried out at Ta'mirul Islamic Middle School is planned programmatically through activities namely, through routine and spontaneous habituation. Efforts to shape the character of students based on positive character values by internalizing the activities at school, among the values of these characters are, religious values, honesty, responsibility, democracy, independent, creative, fond of reading, tolerance, friendly/communicative, discipline, hard work, curiosity, national spirit, love for the country, respect for achievement, love to read, love for peace, caring for the environment, caring for the social. 2) The positive character values are internalized through programmed activities, or routine activities at Ta'mirul Islamic Middle School, which have become the school culture so that the practice of habituation is expected to shape the character of students.
