Abstract

Intan Dwi Ramawati/A510150049. IMPLEMENTATION OF REWARD AND PUNISHMENT TO FOSTER LEARNING MOTIVATION FOR FOURTH GRADE STUDENTS OF SD NEGERI WONOREJO 1 YEAR 2018/2019. Essay, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta, May, 2019. The aim of the study was to describe the implementation of reward and punishment to foster learning motivation for fourth grade students of SD Negeri Wonorejo 1 in 2018/2019. The type of research used was qualitative research with descriptive research design. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. Data wa analyzed through data reduction steps, data presentation and conclusion. Data validity checking technique used triangulation techniques and source. The result of the study shows, teachers have an understanding of giving reward and punishment that aims to motivate student learning in the impelemtation process giving rewards teachers give rewards in the form of veral (praise), nonverbal (smiles, applause and thumbs up), awards in the form of stars, stationery such as books and pencils. Whereas, in giving of punishment by gesture, advice, reprimand, warning and punishment by actions, the teacher greatly avoids physical punishment.
