Abstract
Education is a conscious and planned effort to create a learning atmosphere and learning process so students can actively develop their potential. But seeing the current phenomenon in the learning process students are not encouraged to develop their potential. The learning process in the classroom is more directed at students' ability to memorize information without being required to seek information, so students tend to be passive in learning activities. For that a teacher must have the ability to design the learning process by using learning strategies that are considered suitable with the material Aqidah Akhlaq so that students are motivated to take part in the learning activities. Learning strategies that can make the classroom atmosphere active, students motivated to learn and can develop their potential are active learning learning strategies. This strategy aims to invite students to learn actively, so that the learning process becomes a fun thing, not a boring thing. By implementing active learning learning strategies, it is expected to increase student motivation in the subjects of Aqidah Akhlaq. The problem examined in this study is how the application of active learning learning strategies as an effort to improve student learning motivation in Aqidah Akhlaq subjects in Surakarta Al-Islam Middle School and whether the application of active learning learning strategies can increase student learning motivation in subjects Aqidah Akhlaq in Middle School Al-Islam 1 Surakarta. The purpose of this study was to describe the application of active learning learning strategies as an effort to increase student learning motivation in Aqidah Akhlaq subjects in Surakarta Al-Islam Middle School and to describe the application of active learning learning strategies can increase student learning motivation in subjects Aqidah Akhlaq at Al Middle School -Islam 1 Surakarta. This research is field research using a type of qualitative research. The methods used are interviews, observation and documentation. The results of this study can be concluded that the application of active learning learning strategies in the subjects of Aqidah Akhlaq in Al-Islam 1 Middle School Surakarta uses the reading method of load, information search and card sort. In addition, by implementing an active learning learning strategy can increase learning motivation of students in class VII A, VIII A and VIII B. This can be seen from changes in student behavior when the teacher delivers the material using active learning learning strategies.
