Abstract

"Griya PMI" is a kind of place functioned to take care of people with mental disorders or the entrusted elderly people, who need daily treatments. A caregiver is a person who has the responsibility to take care of them because the continuous proccess could make people feel bored and depressed, and give negative effects of emotion and daily behaviour. This research is purposed to give a visualization of happines of the caregivers or, in this case, it is called the caregivers and the factors of influences. The subject of this research is the medical officer of Griya PMI Solo. This research uses purposive sampling technique in choosing the informan. For collecting the data, the researcher used interview technique. For analyzing the data, the researcher used content analysis technique. The result of this research is that the subjects have the happiness shown from their their humanity to take care of others to be better. The happiness could increase if they could continue their study, feel grateful of their lives and want to continue working in griya, or resign from this job. The source of their happiness is the priority of working for males to earn much money, instead for females, they could be well-being, useful for their family, and feel grateful, and also the nice working climate which is indicated by a family atmosphere, being cooperative and help each other. The internal factors of happiness PMI officers are their negative past experiences and feeling happened now, and ekstern factors are faceducation level, gender and years of service of the officers.
