Abstract

Mount Lawu’s Forest area is a forest areas that have high rainfall with peak height reaching 3,265 mdpl and have an area of more than 15,000 hectares. Medicinal plants are plants that have been identified and are known based on human observation to have compounds that are useful for preventing and curing diseases, carrying out certain biological functions, and preventing attacks of insects and fungi. The purpose of this research was to determine the kinds of medicinal plants species at the Lawu Mountain Forest Area Via Cetho Temple Karanganyar. This researched was an exploratory research with Cruise Methods to explored the climbing route from 1600-1800 meters above sea level. Sampling of medicinal plants was carried out each time and not done again when encountering the same species. Identification was done by included morphological characteristics, habitus, benefits and analyzed by qualitative description. The results obtained 10 species of medicinal plants were Imperata cylindrica, Rubus muloccanus. Clinacanthus nutans, Sida rhombifolia, Melastoma candidum, Piper betle, Lantana camara, Tamarindus indica, Centella asiatica and Curculigo latifolia.
