Abstract
The learning process of reading the Qur'an runs less effectively. One reason is the number of students who are still lacking in the ability to read the Qu’ran, lack of enthusiasm of students to learn to read the Qur’an, lack of teacher interaction with students, inaccuracy in choosing learning methods and there is a distance between one participant educate with other students. Such conditions cause teaching and learning activities to feel saturating and only become a routine. To overcome this problem, research was carried out by applying the method of peer tutoring in implementing Qur'an learning in the hope of being able to improve the ability to read the students' Qur'an. Thus the formulation of the problem presented is how to apply the peer tutoring method in improving the ability to read the Qur’an class VII students of Pacitan MTs state 3 in Pacitan Regency? Then is there an increase in the ability to read the Koran through peer tutoring methods in seventh grade students of Pacitan MTs state 3? The purpose of this study was to see at the application of peer tutoring methods in improving the ability to read al-Qur’an class VII students of Pacitan MTs state 3 and see an increase in the ability to read the al-Qur'an in students through the method. This study uses classroom action research with a cycle model. Each consists of 4 stages, namely: planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The technique of collecting data uses observation, interviews and documentation. This study uses a method of data analysis in the form of a deductive descriptive method, namely by describing the data systematically and then adjusted between the theory and the obtained. From the results of the study it was found that the application of the peer tutoring method went well and had a good impact in improving the ability to read al-Qur’an for seventh grade VII students at Pacitan MTs state 3. This can be seen from the comparison of the percentage of students who are able to read the al-Qur'an before and after the use of the method. Before using the peer tutoring method students who were able to read the Al-Qur'an were 56.66%, but after using the peer tutoring method in the first cycle it increased to 70% and in the second cycle it increased to 90%. This increase has reached the desired completeness, which is equal to 85%. This means that the method is very helpful student in improving the ability to read Al-Qur'an. Thus the application of peer tutoring methods in improving the ability to read al-Qur’an for seventh grade students of Pacitan MTs state 3 proved successful.
