Abstract

Religious character is one of the characters inherent in a person in accordance with the teachings of the religion adhered to and able to be tolerant to followers of other religions. Cultivation Religious character is an important thing to deal with the changing times that get the spotlight from the wider community. One way to instill the religious character of students in Kartasura Middle School 3 is through Islamic Spiritual extracurricular activities. In this study, we will discuss how to cultivate the religious character of students through Islamic spiritual extracurricular activities at Kartasura Middle School 3 and discuss the supporting and inhibiting factors of Islamic Spiritual extracurricular activities in planting the religious character of students in Kartasura Middle School 3. This study aims to describe the planting of the religious character of students through Islamic Spiritual extracurricular activities at Kartasura Middle School 3, Describing the supporting and inhibiting factors of Islamic Spiritual extracurricular activities in planting the religious character of students in Kartasura 3 n Middle School. This study included qualitative research using field research with a descriptive approach in Kartasura 3 nd Middle School. Techniques for collecting data through observation, interviews, and documentation from various parties of the school elements. And the analysis carried out by the deductive method which matches between the findings of the existing theory and proven by the findings of data in the field. Based on the results of the research conducted by researchers, it can be concluded that Islamic Spiritual extracurricular activities at Kartasura Middle School 3 aim to instill religious character by involving active students in various activities. The method used is using the lecture method, discussion method, drill method, and habituation method. The activities contained in Islamic Spiritual extracurricular activities are the existence of Islamic Basic Study activities (discussion), Read Write Al-Quran, Making Wall Magazine, recitation and Sharing. Supporting factors of Islamic Spiritual extracurricular activities are the support of Mr. and Mrs. Teachers, students who are enthusiastic in participating in the activities and there are coaches in extracurricular activities. Whereas the inhibiting factors of Islamic Spiritual extracurricular activities are lack of funding, the lack of relations between administrators and the lack of facilities and infrastructure.
