Abstract

This study aims to find out 1) Video learning media is able to increase students' knowledge of the volcanic eruption material at Mojosongo 2 Public Middle School. 2) Effectiveness of video media in the process of learning material about volcanic eruptions in Mojosongo 2 Public Middle School. This research is a type of experimental research with the design of the Pretest-Posttest Control Group. Value taking is done by giving pretest and posstest questions to the control class and the experimental class. The results of this study show 1) Increased students' knowledge of the volcanic eruption material with video media obtained an average pretest value of 46.4 and posttest of 83.1 which means that learning with video media is more able to increase knowledge than learning by using methods lectures that only obtained an average pretest score of 55.8 and post-test only amounted to 68.6. 2) Effective, Based on hypothesis testing using the pairend sample t-test shows the count value t in the control class -12.781 and -31.781 in the experimental class with a significant 0.000 <0.05 so that H0 is rejected. This means that video learning media is effective in the process of learning material about volcanic eruptions.
