Abstract
This study aims to (1) find out that puzzle media can improve the ability of Grade VII students in MTs N 6 Boyolali learning (2) to know the difference in the ability of students to use media puzzles based on values. development of Brog and gall. Making puzzle media uses yellow board. The design of the study uses One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design, this design aims to find out the differences in the increase in students' reading ability after using the media puzzle. The population in this study were all class VII in Boyolali MTs N 6 in 2018/2019 academic year, totaling 288 students in 9 classes. The sampling process is by using the Purposive Sampling method, to get the experimental class and the control class. The collection techniques used were interviews, documentation, observation, testing and testing. Data analysis in this study uses normal tests and different tests / hypothesis tests. The results showed that (1) The development of puzzle media in Boyolali MTs N 6 with demonstration learning strategies went well and was conducive and proved to be able to improve students' abilities. (2) Students who use media puzzles experience a considerable increase in value. With the evidence that the lowest value of the experimental class pretest-posttest is 37 to 85 and in the control class the increase is not too large with the lowest value 59 being 70
