Abstract

The objectives of this study are (1) Describe the structure of Novel Cinta di dalam gelas by Andrea Hirata. (2) Describe the moral values contained in Novel Cinta di dalam gelas by Andrea Hirata with a review of the sociology of literature. (3) Describe the relevance of the moral value of the novel Cinta di dalam gelas by Andrea Hirata as an alternative teaching material for Indonesian in high school. The data in this study are in the form of words, paragraphs and sentences in novels that show the value of character education. The data source of this research is -. The data collection technique of this study is using document analysis, referral techniques, note-taking techniques and interviews. The validity of the data used in this study is theoretical triagulation, and data triagulation. The results of this study indicate that (1) the building structure of the novel is the theme, the facts of the story and the means of storytelling, (2) The value of moral values in Novel Cinta di dalam gelas by Andrea Hinata can be used as alternative teaching materials in Indonesian language lessons, this is because the contents of the novel Cinta in the glass by Andrea Hinata are in accordance with the core competencies and basic competencies in the curriculum of high school students. And (3) Novel Cinta di dalam gelas by Andrea Hinata is appropriate and relevant as a literary teaching material in class XI high school.
