Abstract
Background: Someone diagnosed with hypertension if the results of measurements of cytolic blood pressure per diastolic obtained at age <60 years are >140/>90 mmHg and at age ≥60 years are >150/>90 mmHg. At menopause estrogen deficiency occurs which may be a contributor to high blood pressure in menopausal women 65% while 35% can be influenced by lifestyle factors and other factors. People who lack physical activity also tend to have a higher heart rate so that the heart muscle must work harder on each contraction. The harder and often the heart muscle has to pump, the more pressure is placed on the arteries.
