Abstract

Baseic Health Research (Riset Kesehatan Dasar) in 2013 showed the proportion of the Indonesian population with above normal cholesterol levels was lower for men than for men and women. Many fators can cause hypercholesterolemia. Starting from abdominal circumference, fiber intake, exercise, smoking, to obesity. The goal of this research is to determine the correlation between waist circumference, fiber intake, and physical activity with total cholesterol levels. This research uses observational cross sectional analytic study. The sampling method was purposive sampling as many as 133 Surakarta Military Regional Command Members who fulfilled the restriction criteria. The result was a significant correlation between waist circumference, fiber intake, and physical activity on total cholesterol levels with a value of p <0.005. Fiber intake has the greatest influence, followed by abdominal circumference and physical activity.
