Abstract

The Al-Qur'an is the word of Allah SWT which functions as a guide for human life. By studying and practicing the Al-Qur'an, people will get a guarantee of the safety and happiness of living both in the world and in the hereafter, so every Muslim must try to learn, know, read and study it. The Al-Qur'an revealed by Allah SWT to humans to be read and practiced, reading it is included in the value of worship. Without reading humans will not understand the contents and without practicing it humans will not be able to feel the goodness and virtues of Allah's guidance in the Al-Qur'an. The formulation of the problem described is what difficulties experienced by students in learning to read the Al-Qur'an and what strategies are used by teachers to overcome the difficulties of learning to read the Al-Qur'an. While the purpose of this study is to describe the difficulties experienced by students in learning to read the Al-Qur'an and identify strategies that teachers use in overcoming the difficulties of students reading the Al-Qur'an. This research is a field research with a qualitative approach. Data sources use primary and secondary data sources. Data through interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis uses descriptive qualitative method with inductive analysis technique, which describes the facts obtained from the research site and then analyzed. The results of the study can be concluded that using the Al-Husna method is very helpful for grade VII students of Muhammadiyah 10 Middle School in learning to read Al-Qur'an. By replacing the old method into the Al-husna method, students are expected to be easier and more interesting when learning to read the Al-Qur'an. One of the obstacles to learning difficulties in reading Al-Qur'an is the lack of support from parents so that children become lazy in learning to read the Al-Qur'an.
