Abstract
Abstract The aims of this research are (1) to describe the steps of gobak sodor traditional game to the fourth grade students of SD Negeri Bekonang 02 Mojolaban Sukoharjo, (2) to describe the value of democracy contained in gobak sodor traditional game to the fourth grade students of SD Negeri Bekonang 02 Mojolaban Sukoharjo, (3) to describe the value of unity contained in gobak sodor traditional game to the fourth grade students of SD Negeri Bekonang 02 Mojolaban Sukoharjo. The type and the design of this research is a phenomenology-qualitative research. The data was collected by using documentation, interview and observation method. The data were analysed through the data collection, data reduction, and data conclusion. The validity of the data is tested by using the Triangulation test of source and technic. The result of the research shows that (1) the steps of gobak sodor traditional game was held in 3 (three) steps, those are the preparation step, the implementation step and the final step along with the assessment. (2) the value of democracy contained in gobak sodor traditional game is showed in the form of the students’ activity to manage the strategy, choosing the captain, official, and the substitute player, and discussing the determine the main group, (3) the value of unity in gobak sodor is the solidarity during the game gives a positive effect to the unity between the students that is showed by the cooperation and support to win the competition.
