Abstract
Research Objectives (1) Describe the planting of creative character and hard work through extracurricular scouts of fifth grade students at Sawahan Elementary School 1. (2) Describe the barriers to cultivating creative character and hard work through scout extracurricular students of class V (3) Discerning solutions from barriers to planting creative character and hard work through extracurricular scouts of fifth grade students. Qualitative research with qualitative descriptive methods. Techniques for collecting data through interviews, observation, documentation. Data analysis techniques with data reduction, data description presentation, conclusion drawing. The validity of the data uses source and technique triangulation. The results of the study (a) Planting creative character and hard work through the extracurricular scouts of class V students, the creative character of issuing ideas with related material, giving various ideas, detailing details, complementing each other to explore ideas. The character of hard work, which is task responsiveness, careful work, task focus given by the teacher, notes important things as evaluations (b) Obstacles to cultivating creative character and hard work through extracurricular scouts of class V students, which are different ways of thinking, passive thinking lack of development of teachers mastering competence. (c) Solution of barriers to planting creative character and hard work through extracurricular scouts of fifth grade students namely students trying different scout experiences, students practicing scout experience confidence, teachers having creative character competencies and hard work.
