Abstract
This study aims to find out 1) the sociohistorical setting of 2) majas in the poetry collection of Rain Bulan Juni by Sapardi Djoko Damono, 3) figure of speech in a collection of poems in the Rain of June, 4) Implementation of the Majas and diction in a collection of poems Rain in June as teaching material in High school. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The object examined in this study was a collection of Rain in June by Sapardi Djoko Damono. Data and primary data sources are a collection of poems in the Rain of June, while secondary are in the form of a thesis, biography of the author, and the internet. Data collection techniques are library techniques, see, and note. The results of this study indicate 1) Sapardi Djoko Damono’s the first child of the couple Sadyoko and Sapariah, his father began working as a servant in the court of Kesunan, after marriage to become a civil servant. Sapardi began writing poetry in November 1957 when he was in high school when he moved to komplang village, 2) Majas in the June poetry collection consisting of majas personification, majas metafora, majas hiperbola, majas paradoks, majas erotosis, and majas anafora 3 ) diction in the Rainy June poem collection by Sapardi Djoko Damono, consisting of denotative, connotative, abstract, concrete, general, special, and no discovery of absorption or foreign words, 4) implementation of diction and majas in Sapardi's Rainy June Rainy poem collection Djoko Damono is suitable to be used as teaching material in high school class X with KI, and KD 3.17, because it meets the criteria of teaching materials, namely from the angle of language, maturity of the soul (psychology), and cultural background.
