Abstract

Indonesian lesson with material finding the main idea in SD N 4 Gondang took place, (2) Describe the ability of class V students to find the main idea in the paragraph in a text, (3) Analyze the difficulties experienced by fifth grade students find the main idea in the paragraph in a text, (4) Describe the solution to overcome the difficulty of finding the main idea of SD N 4 Gondang students.. The type of research used is a type of qualitative research, with phenomelogical research designs. In this study data collection using test, documentation, interview, observation methods. The validity of the data used by researchers is source triangulation. Data analysis techniques from data reduction, data 2 presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that, (1) The implementation of learning with material found the main idea on the Indonesian content of grade V SD Gondang 4 was conducive, but in the use of the learning model was less varied and the use of media that was less than optimal when the learning process took place (2) Based on Test results, students' ability to find a good idea, because of 36 students only 10 students experienced difficulties, so that if it was 25 percent of students who were still having difficulty finding the main idea in the paragraphs of reading texts and 75 percent who had no difficulties. Besides that the average score of students is 73, this proves the ability of students to find the main idea of class V SD 4 Gondang is said to be good. (3) The ten students who have not mastered the ability to find the main idea, found that the cause of the difficulty in finding the main idea is not understanding the meaning of the main idea, vocabulary that does not know its meaning and the sentence is too long, (4) Based on the results of research and some other studies relevant, the main solution to overcome student difficulties in finding the main idea in paragraphs of reading text is the jigsaw, inquiry, paragraph card, and DRTA cooperative learning method.
