Abstract

This study included three objectives, (1) identifying nominal-nominal sentence variations in student description essays, (2) Identifying passive-active sentence variations in student description essays, (3) Identifying variations in compound single sentences in student description essays. This study uses a qualitative method. Data collection techniques are in the form of referencing, recording, assignment, and documentation. The results of the research analysis are three, (1) Nominal-verbal sentence variations in student description essays from 84 sentences, including 53 verbal sentences, and 31 nominal sentences, (2) Passive active sentence variations on student description essays from 84 sentences, including there are 47 active sentences, and 37 passive sentences, (3) Variations of compound single sentences in a description essay of 84 sentences, including 65 single sentences, and 19 compound sentences.
