Abstract

There are three objectives of this study, (1) describe the structure that builds the Genduk novel by Sundari Mardjuki, (2) describe the personality aspects in Genduk's novel by Sundari Mardjuki with a review of literary psychology, (3) explain the implementation of the results of this study in high school learning. This research uses qualitative descriptive research. The data of this research are paragraph sentences that have personality aspects in the novel Genduk by Sundari Mardjuki. Techniques in data collection using library techniques, techniques refer to, note-taking techniques, while the authors use this research with the technical analysis of interactive model data. The results of this study indicate (1) the structure analysis of the novel Genduk by Sundari Mardjuki includes Themes, Figures, Storylines. The theme in Genduk's novel by Sundari Mardjuki is about the struggle of a child who wants to meet his father's figure, the main character in Genduk's novel by Sundari Mardjuki named Genduk, the plot used is to use forward grooves, the background of the story is in Ringinsari Village on the slopes of Sindoro Sumbing, ( 2) the personality aspect of the main character in the novel Genduk by Sundari Mardjuki there are five aspects, namely 1) physiological needs namely the need for love or affection from people around, 2) the need for security needs that encourage individuals to obtain peace, certainty and order from environmental conditions so that he needs assurance, stability, protection, order and freedom from fear and anxiety, 3) the need to meet social needs is the need for love and belonging. This is a need that encourages individuals to have effective relationships or emotional ties with other individuals , bai k with the same type or different types, 4) the need for awards is a sense of appreciation, achievement, and attendance, 5) the need for self-actualization is that this need is achieved if the needs below are fulfilled and satisfied (3) the analysis of the personality aspects of the character The main part of Genduk's novel by Sundari Mardjuki is the aspect of literary psychology, its implementation as a literary teaching material in high school. Some aspects that need to be compared are a) language, b) psychology, c) and student background. this research can be implemented as a literary teaching material in high school through the 2013 class XI curriculum in accordance with Basic Competencies 3.11 analyze messages from one fiction book that is read.
