Abstract

The principal gives a very important role to move or mobilize all school citizens to realize common goals. One of the common aspirations in educational institutions is the quality of education, as well as the educational equivalent that must be fought for and maintained. For this reason, this study aims to find out what is the leadership style of the principal, the role and efforts of the principal in improving the quality of education in Glintang 2 Public Elementary School which relate to indicators of input, process, education output. This research is a descriptive. Data collection techniques in this study were carried out by means of observation, interviews and documentation. In the data validity test the source and method triangulation techniques are used. While data analysis uses interactive qualitative analysis with data collection steps, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Based on the results of the study showed that the efforts of school heads in improving the quality of education in Glintang 2 Public Elementary School were seen in the input, process, output indicators. As for the efforts of the principal in improving the quality of education due to the input indicator is to prepare professional educators, both through coaching, discussions and meetings, academic seminars, including training, workshops; and training, perfecting student recruitment strategies through promotion. The efforts of the head of Glintang 2 Public Elementary School in improving the quality of education due to the process indicator are to condition a safe learning environment; comfortable; and stimulate learning, create programs according to the needs of students extracurricular activities, provide learning motivation; both giving rewards and punishment to teachers and students.
