Abstract
Welding in the manufacturing industry has an important role in the process of metal grafting. One of the welding methods is friction stir welding (FSW). The FSW method is to utilize friction between the tool and the workpiece to be connected. This connection occurs because of the two-sided stirring of metal pieces that have begun to soften. The objective of this research is to know the physical and mechanical properties of different material plate between aluminum with brass, aluminum with copper and copper with brass by tensile test, vickers hardness test and micro photo test on welding friction stir welding. The welding of this research using 1100 series aluminum material, copper alloy and brass, connection using butt joint, the parameter used is 1250 rpm rotational speed, feed speed 12.5 mm / minute. The analysis was performed by tensile testing, micro vickers, micro photographs. The results of this test show the micro-structure of aluminum welding with brass in the area of stir zone cracked during welding. While in the steering zone zone all the welding produces fine grains due to the effect of stirring the joint tool during the welding process. Hardness testing in the copper welding zone zone with brass increases compared to other welds. While on tensile test of maximum tensile strength of copper welding with brass that is equal to 254.60 MPa and maximum strain of 5.17%
